The main purpose of the Kenya Power Pension Fund is to provide benefits and pension for all permanent and pensionable employees of Kenya Power. We also provide benefits and pension to dependants of death in service employees.
The Kenya Power Pension Fund has a total of 10,851 members spread between the Defined Benefits Fund (DB) and the Defined Contributions Fund (DC). The DB Fund has 3,532 active members and 223 deferred members while the DC Fund has 6,737 active members and 359 deferred members. The in-service DB Fund members belong to both Funds.
The Fund owns Stima Plaza and Umeme Plaza, fully occupied commercial buildings situated along Kolobot Road in Parklands and Naivasha road in Lavington area respectively. Stima Plaza is currently the headquarters of Kenya Power and it also hosts key tenants like banks, clinics and others.
The Fund, through Sakile Properties Ltd, has developed and sold 39 townhouses in Runda Park, Runda. It’s latest development, Loresho Ridge, is ready for occupation and has a total of 165 residential units comprising townhouses, villas and apartments in serene gated environment.
